Linocut printing

I had this old sketch lying around since late august 2017, that I didn’t really know what to do with; pretty cool skeleton-nun-thingie with a big ass crown on top, that could become a cool tattoo (with some tweaks to the design), but I got lost in other projects.

A couple of months ago, I was contacted by this cool guy from Germany, called Ben who runs a small business called Manvfactvs. who does some REALLY cool linocuts, and after a short e-mail correspondance, we decided to do a collaboration! Fuck yeah, the internet and it’s possibilities for bringing like minded weirdos together never ceases to amaze me!

I picked the long end of the straw, and just had to do a scan of the original drawing, whereas Ben had about 15 hours of carving to look forward to (sorry, Ben!), and the final print came out AMAZING!

We only did 8 prints in total, after which the linoplate was brutally murdered; 1 for Ben, 1 for me and 3 for each of us to sell. Since the interest was pretty high (thank you everyone), we decided to set the prize low (because, fuck you greeeeeeed) and do a raffle, picking three random persons from the poll of interested each.

Awesome project – big thanks to everyone who showed interest in the prints and to my german friend Ben (go like his page!)! Hope to do more collaborations like this in the future; handprinted artwork for a black metal album would be cool, so if you have an evil and sinister band, don’t be afraid to get in touch!

‘Til next time – Hail Satan!
